1-7 Puralka Cave

Locality:

7122-070159. Two kilometres north of Puralka Siding on the east side of Puralka Road.

Access:

Puralka Road.

Geology/Geomorphology:

This site comprises a series of low bedding plane caves in Bridgewater Formation dune limestone. Fossil bones have been reported from this locality but have not been described with any accuracy.

Significance:

Regional. The site may have higher significance if more was known about the fossil bone content of the caves.

Management:

Removal of rubbish from the cave would be beneficial. Further rubbish dumping and quarrying should be prohibited.
