Locality:

7121-387841. Nine kilometres south of Lyons.

Access:

Heaths Road and Mount Deception Road off Princes Highway.

Ownership:

Small area of private land surrounded by public land.

Geology/Geomorphology:

Mount Deception is a prominent steep-sided tuff and ejectamenta cone with a plug of Greenwald-Cobboboonee Basalt at the summit.

Significance:

Local. The cleared area of Mount Deception provides limited outcrop of the Greenwald-Cobboboonee Basalt.

Management:

Limited quarrying would provide more exposures and could be permitted.
