General Land Unit Description: This land unit occurs mainly around Glenthompson, although there are scattered occurrences around Balmoral. The landscape is mainly undulating rises with some gentle colluvial slopes. The major soil type on the rises and low hills is a Chromosol, which is commonly sodic at depth (represented by this site). A dominant soil type on the gentle slopes tends to be a Brown Sodosol (MM578). A codominant soil type on the gentle slopes, which is often found in association with the Sodosols, is a Kurosol, which is often sodic at depth (MM580). |
