General Land Unit Description: The undulating basalt hills around Camperdown predominantly consist of Black Chromosols. There are minor occurences of friable, Mottled Black and Black Chromosols on the hillslopes, friable Red and Mottled Brown Chromosols on upper slopes and crests, and infrequent Brown Ferric Chromosols also. The volcanic maars tend to be Mottled Black Vertosols or they are water filled. |
