GL76

Site: GL76Land Unit: Annya Basalt
Aust. Soil Class.: Bleach-Ferric, Eutrophic, Brown CHROMOSOL (deep sandy topsoil) (confidence level 1)

Soil pit GL76 auger

General Land Unit Description:
This land unit consists of dissected gently undulating plains and undulating rises north of Mount Eckersley. The soils on the plains tend to be imperfectly drained with some low lying swamps. The rises tend to be slightly better drained, with a shallower A2 horizon, but still have the ferric horizon above the clay. This site has a deep sandy topsoil which is conspicuously bleached, indicating that the subsoil is frequently saturated.

Site Description:

Geology: Quaternary basaltLandform pattern: Gently undulating plain
Position in landscape: Drainage depressionInternal drainage: Imperfectly drained
