Site: GL145 | Land Unit: Nareen Granite |
Aust. Soil Class.: Orthic, Paralithic, Basic TENOSOL (confidence level 4) |
General Land Unit Description: This site is a minor soil type occurring on the short steep slopes of the Ordovician granite. The major soil type on this land unit has a more developed soil profile, mainly Chromosols (GL161). This soil type, consisting of deep sand, is also found in association with this land unit, although it is more common to the Glenelg River Granite land unit. This soil type tends to be more susceptible to erosion than the Chromosols, and this feature, combined with the steep slopes, limits this soil type for land use. |
