Dissected Metamorphic Land Unit

In the steeper dissected valleys of the Dundas Tablelands, weathered Glenelg River metamorphics are exposed at the surface. This land unit consists of the steep to rolling Cambrian metamorphic slopes leading to major drainage courses that have dissected the Dundas Tablelands. This land unit is often found in conjunction with the Glenelg River Granites LU and the Glenelg River Schists LU.

The soils tend to be Sodosols with a sandy topsoil, which can sometimes be quite deep. There is often an accumulation of ferruginous nodules above the clay subsoil.
