Status:

Native to New South Wales, Victoria and Tasmania.

Plant Description:

Erect shrub to 1.6 m tall with scattered to crowded leaves 2-8 mm long and 0.8-2.5 mm wide with a rounded apex. Underside of leaves grey-woolly.

Flower-heads on the ends of side branches or in the angles between stems and leaves. Composite flowers white, pale blue to mauve outer ‘petals’ (ray florets) with yellow centres (disk florets). Fruit an achene.

Habitat:

Scattered along the coastline in sand dunes but also found in woodland across the State.

Comments:

The daisy-bushes are a large genus of native plants with almost 50 species and subspecies recorded for Victoria. Other coastal species include
Coastal Daisy-bush (Olearia axillaris) and Sticky Daisy-bush (Olearia glutinosa).
