The
Biodiversity conservation in intensive grazing systems: riparian and in-stream management report was compiled as part of the development of Productive Grazing, Healthy Rivers. It contains a review of the background literature and current riparian management practices in Gippsland and South-West Victoria.

The Report: Identifying Best Management Practices for Riparian Habitats in Gippsland Dairy Regions: Riparian Condition and Relationships with Farm Management was prepared by Leigh Thompson, Alistar Robinson, Amy Jansen and Peter Davies from Charles Sturt University, Wagga Wagga, in April 2003. This report presents the findings of a field project undertaken in Gippsland between May-December 2002 which aimed to:
1). determine the current condition of riparian habitats across the west and south Gippsland dairy region
2). investigate the relationships between landholder management practices and riparian condition, and
3). make recommendations for management practices that could be investigated at planned demonstration sites

Weed management in riparian zones is a guide for grazing properties in southwest Victoria. It was prepared by Nigel Ainsworth (Department of Primary Industries - Frankston) in July 2004. The guide has been produced as part of the Productive Grazing, Healthy Rivers subproject and is applicable to the Warrnambool Plain and Otway Plain bioregions of Victoria. It aims to assist land managers in planning and carrying out riparian weed management.

Weed management in riparian zones is a guide for grazing properties in southeast Victoria. It was prepared by Nigel Ainsworth (Department of Primary Industries - Frankston) in November 2004. The guide has been produced as part of the Productive Grazing, Healthy Rivers subproject and is applicable to the Warrnambool Plain and Otway Plain bioregions of Victoria. It aims to assist land managers in planning and carrying out riparian weed management.

Productive Grazing, Healthy Rivers - Improving riparian and in-stream biodiversity - Project Report 2006

This report describes the outputs of the Productive Grazing, Healthy Rivers project (PGHR). This four year project commenced in July 2001 and aimed to improve riparian and in-stream biodiversity in high rainfall intensive grazing systems through better management of riparian land and native riparian remnant vegetation. This report contains an overview and background to the development of this project, and within the overview a brief description of the research and development activities and outputs. The implications arising from this project and recommendations for future riparian research priorities are also given. The body of this report presents the details of each of the six PGHR research and development activities, with a summary of the most significant findings given for each.
