Habitat:

Smother rocks and dunes next to the sea (SAWF 2009); Coastal California (Burnie et al. 1997); light well drained soil in an open sunny position, drought resistant but frost tender (Bodkin 1986). Established locally in the wild (Webb et al. 1998). Tolerate poor soil, salt or drought well. Roots rot when over watered (Wiki 2009); Well drained soils (Bodkin 1986).
