Invasiveness Assessment

Invasive Plants Home

This report on Invasive Plant Invasiveness Assessment was prepared by John Weiss and Linda Laconis (at the former DPIs Keith Turnbull Research Institute) for Parks Victoria in 2002. The Pest Plant Assessment System developed by KTRI is a risk assessment process that allows for the prioritisation of weeds based on a combination of the following factors:

  • assessing the plant's invasiveness
  • comparing the plant's present and potential distribution
  • determining the impacts of the plant on social, environmental and agricultural values.

This report assesses the current and potential distribution of 112 pest plant species selected by Parks Victoria.
