Great Soil Group: brown podsolic.Geology: Late Tertiary sediments.
General Landscape Description: Level or low position on gently undulating plain.Soil Mapping Unit: Maryvale.

Dark greyish brown (10YR4/2); clay loam; weak medium polyhedral structure; weak consistence moderately moist; clear and smooth change to:

B130-40 cmBrown (10YR5/3) with few, medium, faint, yellowish brown (10YR5/4) mottles; light clay; weak coarse polyhedral structure; very firm consistence dry; clear and smooth change to:

B2140-100 cmDark yellowish brown (10YR4/6) with many, medium, faint, brown (10YR5/3) mottles; medium heavy clay; strong very coarse angular blocky structure, parting to moderate coarse prismatic structure; strong consistence moist; diffuse and smooth change to:

Note: This pit site is a heavier version of CFTT9. The soil profile was wet at the base. No samples were taken.
