Site Description

The Pimple is a gooseneck meander of the Moorabool River almost isolating a high residual spur on the eastern side of the river.

On the slopes of the spur are outcrops of Newer Volcanics basalt overlying Fyansford Formation, Upper Maude Limestone Member. Maude Basalt Member outcrops at river level.

Significance

Local. The site is a clear example of a gooseneck meander and includes outcrops of the main rock formations of the area.

Management

Class 3. The site is best retained under rural land use.
