Location:You Yangs - 719948. Shire of Corio. Shallow road cut on Sandy Creek Road, 50 m north of the intersection with Branch Road.

You Yangs - Matamorphised Sediments

Access:

Sandy Creek Road.

Ownership:

Crown land.

Site Description:

The road cut exposes a high grade hornfels produced by contact metamorphism of sediments intruded by the You Yangs Granite.

Significance:

Regional. The site is the only field contact exposure of the sediments invaded by the You Yangs Granite.

Management:

Class 2. Road maintenance operations should be designed to keep the clarity of thus small outcrop.
