Location: | Tyabb – 375523. Two kilometres north-east of Balnarring.
Access: | Frankston – Flinders Road.
Ownership: | Private Land.
Geomorphology: | A degraded escarpment averaging 1.5 metres high lies at the back of a low terrace that has developed on the valley side slopes just west of the line of the Tyabb Fault. The escarpment and terrace are remnants of more extensive early Pleistocene terraces, these being modified by late earth movements, sea level changes, and alluviation of valleys.
Significance: | Regional. Although an indistinct landform, the small changes in slope are important indicators of the erosional and depositional history of the Mornington Peninsula.
Management: | Class 2. Changes in land use that involved substantial changes to the form of the hillslopes, or masked the nature of the terrace and escarpment, should not be permitted. |
