Location: | Devon Meadows – 574725. Three kilometres north-north-east of Tooradin.
Access: | Muddy Gates Lane.
Ownership: | Private land.
Geomorphology: | A broad low ridge (less than five metres high) trends north-east across Muddy Gates Lane. The ridge has an unusual orientation in comparison with other Cranbourne Sand ridges, and has a smoothly curving western margin. It resembles in form those described at Rythedale (Site 84) and Cardinia (Site 86).
Significance: | Regional. The composition and origin of this feature is not clear. It may represent a reworking of Cranbourne Sand topography at the margins of a former lake in the Dalmore Swamp.
Management: | Class 2. Extensive quarrying or large scale construction activities that subsequently modified the topography of the ridge should not be permitted. |
