Location: | Pakenham – 637891; 658887; 667867. Two to four kilometres north and north-west of Pakenham.
Access: | Thewls Road, Toomuc Valley Road, and Ahern Road.
Ownership: | Private land.
Geology/Geomorphology: | The southern margins of the Lysterfield Granodiorite are marked by distinctive narrow ridges that trend west-east. These are erosion resistant stones of metamorphosed Silurian sediments. A ridge of similar prominence and origin lies immediately west of the edge of the Tynong Granite north of Pakenham.
Significance: | Regional. The ridges are major topographic features and are clear examples of differential erosion. They are the most obvious examples of contact metamorphic ridges in the study area.
Management: | Class 3. The significance of the site will not be reduced by changes in land use. |
