Location:Lethbridge - 501995. Shire of Bannockburn. Road cutting on Maude-Sheoaks Road, 3 km south of Sheoaks.

Access:

Maude-Sheoaks Road.

Ownership:

Crown land.

Site Description:

The road cutting exposes the crush zone of the Hanover Fault. The is a steeply dipping oblique thrust fault and the road cutting shows faulted and sheared beds of sandstone and mudstone.

Significance:

Regional. The site is a clear exposure of a faulted zone and is one of the best sections to show the Hanover Fault.

Management:

Class 2. Widening of the road cutting should be designed to maintain the clarity of the exposure.
