Access:

From Bouchiers Road, walk along river bank.

Geology:

A small outcrop of igneous porphyry rock occurs in the river channel and adjacent valley sides 500 metres upstream from Bouchiers Road.

Significance:

Local. A number of small dyke intrusions occur in the Yarra Valley between Warrandyte and Healesville. This is the only example of this rock to be exposed in the river channel in the Warrandyte Gorge.

Management:

Class 2. The outcrops in the channel should not be obscured by construction or excavation works.
