Location:Elaine - 467090. Shire of Bannockburn. Moorabool River valley 500 m north-west of Meredith-Durdiwarrah Road bridge.

Meredith-Durdiwarrah Road.

Ownership:

Private land.

Site Description:

An elongated, ingrown meander of the Moorabool River has been breached across the neck and is now abandoned above the level of the present river.

Significance:

Regional. The meander represents a stage in valley development of incised meanders in the Moorabool River. It is the only breached ingrown meander of this river noted in this survey. Intact incised meanders occur elsewhere along the river.

Management:

Class 2. The site should be maintained in rural use.
