Geological heritage sites, including sites of geomorphological interest and volcanic heritage sites, are under regular revision by the Geological Society of Australia, especially in the assessment of significance and values. Reference should be made to the most recent reports. Location:Anakie - 665028. Shire of Corio. 9 km northeast of Anakie.

Access:
Granite Road.

Ownership:		Crown land and private land.

Site Description:
The road follows a low ridge trending east-west. The sandy soils and occasional protruding rocks indicate it to be a granite ridge which links the main granite mass of the You Yangs to the smaller outcrops near Anakie Junction.

Significance:
Local. The outcrop rises above the surrounding volcanic plains and has different soil texture. It indicates the continuity of emplacement of the You Yangs Granite with that at Anakie.

Management:
Class 3. The site is not liable to damage by changes in land use.
