Geology: | An irregular bed of Baxter Formation gravels on weathered basalt. Tickell (1971) suggested that the gravels (which include black chert, chert breccias, reef quartz and quartzites) are derived from Palaeozoic rock. | |
Significance: | Regional. This is one of several localities in the region where gravels derived from Palaeozoic rocks have been noted. | |
Management: | Class 2. Future roadworks should be designed to retain the exposure of gravels beds. | |
