Access: | The island is accessible only by boat. |
Ownership: | Crown land. |
Geology/Geomorphology: | The island is an accumulation of basalt rubble on a rocky substrate. The centre of the island rises three to four metres above high tide level and has salt marsh and scrub vegetation. There are several gravel spits, the longest extending 70 m towards the east. |
Significance: | Regional. The island indicates the extent of the basalt west of Corinella and is of interest for the accumulation of basalt rubble and the growth of the spits. |
Management: | Class 2. No excavation or removal of gravel should be permitted. |
