Access:

Poowong to Drouin road.

Ownership:

Private land.

Geology:

A small basaltic pipe twenty feet wide was noted on the Poowong geological Parish Plan (Mines Dept., Vic., 1922). The pipe was quarried for construction stone but the small pit resulting from this operation has now been filled in. A few basalt boulders are all that mark the site.

Significance:

Local. The site is typical of a number of small pipes and dykes in the Strzelecki Ranges.

Management:

Class 3. Changes in land use will not alter the significance of the site.
