Geology: | A small quarry exposes a six metre section of coarse sands and gravels with lenses and narrow vertical pipes of clay. The material is regarded as Early Tertiary and equivalent to the Childers Formation (Douglas 1979). It is older than the Older Volcanics. | |
Significance: | Regional. This is one of the major exposures of the Early Tertiary sub-basaltic sediments in the study area. | |
Management: | Class 2. The principles of quarry management apply at this site. | |
