Occurrence: Horsham clay occurs as a co-dominant mapping unit with Murtoa clay on the Black Box flats landscape unit near Murtoa and on the flood plain landscape unit east of Horsham. Where it is associated with Murtoa clay, the Horsham clay unit occupies a slightly more elevated topographic position. It occurs as sub-dominant on the prior stream flood plain, lake and lunette, high plains, gently undulating plains and dune and swale landscape units.
Representative Soil Type: Site IS17 is an example of a Horsham clay.
Vegetation: A savanna woodland formation characterised by a Grey Box (E. microcarpa) association, may have been dominant on areas of Horsham Clay.
