Habitat:

Warm-temperate and subtropical regions where it is found on sandy and other light textured soils in open, unshaded areas which annual rainfall of 300 to 500 mm (Parsons and Cuthbertson 1992). It occurs over broad areas of grazing land and on roadsides and neglected areas, particularly in depressions (Parsons and Cuthbertson 1992). Stinkwort invades dry coastal vegetation, mallee shrubland, lowland grassland and grassy woodland and dry sclerophyll forest and woodland (Carr
et al 1992).
