The medium sized Robinvale_Nyah Salinity Province covers 122,000 ha of the Murray corridor from Swan Hill to Robinvale, in which little salinity occurrence has been mapped. Underlain by a regional scale Groundwater Flow System (GFS) comprising marine and alluvial origin sediments, the salinity threat arises largely due to increased groundwater recharge from irrigation development adjoining the Murray River trench. |
