Site Description | Several springs emerge at the base of the Newer Volcanics basalt where it overlies Silurian sediments. The springs emerge at the same contour level and have given rise to gullies and slumps on the slopes below. Slumping at a similar level on adjacent slopes was probably initiated by springs now inactive.
Significance | Local. The site is a clear active example of a process important in developing and shaping valley-side slopes on Deep Creek in the study area.
Management | Any activity that altered or required the alteration of the hydrology, sub-surface drainage or form of the slopes of the site should not be permitted. The site does not pose a hazard to current land use. |
