Abstract: | South Buchan exposure of Buchan Caves Limestone. | |
Access: | Via private road through Mr Butterworths property, South Buchan. | |

Geology: | Buchan Caves Limestone is poorly exposed in the South Buchan Basin. This outcrop is partially silicified and is associated with a small limonite deposit. The limestone is predominantly coralline, containing Favosites and Syringopora colonies together with Acrospirifer. | |
Significance: | Local. Best outcrop of Buchan Caves Limestone in South Buchan Basin. | |
Management: | Actions which may obscure or remove the limestone outcrop should be avoided. | |
