Management Considerations

  • Strong texture contrast profile, highly sodic subsoil
  • Subsurface horizon is leached (bleached) with restrictive interface with subsoil. Fewer nutrients available
  • Slightly acidic/neutral surface and subsurface soil and alkaline deeper subsoil
  • Note high silt content and higher proportion of magnesium to calcium
  • Deep subsoil is very highly dispersive. Limited (preferably no) exposure required to remain stable. Slightly saline with depth.
  • Surface soil is slightly to moderately dispersive
  • Landscape position (ie. terrace). Variable site drainage
