Management Considerations

  • Deep, sandy soil, slightly acid, becoming neutral at depth.
  • Leached soil, very little nutrient available, apart from thin surface soil.
  • Clayey subsoil at depth, possible deep Sodosol.
  • Surface soil maintaining stability, susceptible to sheet and rill erosion. Subsurface soil has loose to weak consistence (no binding).
  • Sand plain; site drainage varying from poor to moderately well drained; receiving and distributing moisture.
