The report: 'Northern Wimmera soils and their significance to local agriculture' was prepared by Nabil Badawy of the then Department of Agriculture in 1982. It describes for each of 6 major soil groups - their significance to agriculture (i.e. workability, permeability, salinity, inherent fertility, soil erosion etc).
Note that soils in this report are described in terms of the earlier Northcote Factual Key classification. Today, the Australian Soil Classification is the standard for classifying Australian soils.
