Fish 091 was last detected at 9.02 am on 17/6/06 in Bairnsdale. Shortly thereafter, DPI scientists were contacted by a recreational fisher who had caught Fish 091. The fish had been filleted for eating and the tags had been removed and kept. But the rest of the fish had been buried. Scientists were interested in examining the earbones of the fish to determine its age, so the remains of Fish 091 were exhumed for further analysis. Stay tuned for the results.
