Type C, like Type A and Type B, is marked by reddish clay in the subsoil. However, Type C has a grey clay loam instead of a greyish brown loam in the surface horizon. Type A and Type B occur on the highest parts of the plain, whereas, there is only one area of Type C recorded on the Station and it occurs in an intermediate situation.
The soil type covers in part, an area affected by mining activities and the surface horizon is irregularly marked by inclusions of white silty mining residue or slime.
