The Biodiversity conservation in intensive grazing systems: riparian and in-stream management report was compiled as part of the development of Productive Grazing, Healthy Rivers. It contains a review of the background literature and current riparian management practices in Gippsland and South-West Victoria.

The Report: Identifying Best Management Practices for Riparian Habitats in Gippsland Dairy Regions: Riparian Condition and Relationships with Farm Management was prepared by Leigh Thompson, Alistar Robinson, Amy Jansen and Peter Davies from Charles Sturt University, Wagga Wagga, in April 2003. This report presents the findings of a field project undertaken in Gippsland between May-December 2002 which aimed to: 1). determine the current condition of riparian habitats across the west and south Gippsland dairy region 2). investigate the relationships between landholder management practices and riparian condition, and 3). make recommendations for management practices that could be investigated at planned demonstration sites

Weed management in riparian zones is a guide for grazing properties in southwest Victoria. It was prepared by Nigel Ainsworth (Department of Primary Industries - Frankston) in July 2004. The guide has been produced as part of the Productive Grazing, Healthy Rivers subproject and is applicable to the Warrnambool Plain and Otway Plain bioregions of Victoria. It aims to assist land managers in planning and carrying out riparian weed management.
