Location:

965792 and 986773. Near the Glenmore Road - Mellick Munjie River Crossing.

Abstract:

Waterfall and exposures of Late Silurian granodiorite.

Access:

Glenmore Road.

Ownership:

Crown land.

GeologyGeomorphology:

A series of falls and cascades occur in the Mellick Munjie River on coarse grained, mica-rich granodiorite. The falls consist of two drops of approximately 15 m in height, separated by a steep race. At the falls base a deep plunge pool has developed.

Significance:

Local.

Management:

Such falls are relatively uncommon on the granitic rocks of the area. There are few land use options which would decrease the value of the site with the exception of large scale quarrying or significant reduction in the flow of the Mellick Munjie River.
