7.1 Kennedys Creek - Alluvial Section

Geological heritage sites, including sites of geomorphological interest and volcanic heritage sites, are under regular revision by the Geological Society of Australia, especially in the assessment of significance and values. Reference should be made to the most recent reports. Location:336965. Seven kilometres southeast of Simpson.

Lavers Hill to Cobden Road.

Ownership:

Private land.

Geomorphology:

This long section of Kennedys Creek is flanked by alluvium. The stream channel displays small and tight meanders along this narrow valley sector.

Significance:

Regional. This is one of the longest valley alluvial sector in the far northwest of the Shire.
