Geology
Pleistocene to recent alluvium.
Landform
Alluvial plain with occasional inactive shallow stream channels and narrow low levees.
Soils
The surface soils are very dark grey silty clay loams or fine sandy loams overlying a light grey or light brownish grey similarly textured subsoil at about 20 to 30 cm. At about 40 to 60 cm and below the bleached zone the subsoil clearly changes to light brownish grey mottled with yellowish brown silty light clay to fine sandy light clay. Occasionally the upper part of this horizon may be weakly cemented. Mottled brownish grey and yellowish brown medium to sandy clays occur from about 80 cm. The soils on the levee are generally deeper and sandier.
