5.8.1 Older alluvial plains
5.8.2 Modern floodplains
These are older alluvial plains associated with ephemeral/relict streamlines that are contained within the broader Dunefield unit. They differ from the riverine older alluvial plains proper which are generally larger and traverse through the Dunefield complex, e.g. Murray River older plains/terraces. They are distinct from the surrounding units and can be divided according to encroached material and landform. |
