Accountable Dairying
Agriculture in Victoria, particularly dairying but also grazing and cropping, generates significant on-farm nutrient surpluses. Waterways and key environmental assets such as lakes and wetlands are under most pressure from agricultural intensification. Accounting for the impacts of agricultural production has become crucial, given that industries face continued pressure to adopt practices that generate profit, sometimes at the expense of environmental outcomes.
