Management Considerations

  • Deep, sandy soil, slightly acid, becoming acid at depth (clay).
  • Leached soil, very little nutrient available, apart from thin surface soil.
  • Clayey subsoil at depth, possible deep Sodosol.
  • Surface soil maintaining stability while vegetation cover exists, susceptible to sheet rill and wind erosion.
  • Subsurface soil has loose to weak consistence (no binding).
  • Dune; site drainage varying from moderately well drained to well drained; receiving and distributing moisture.
