Murra Warra Association

This unit is the principal soil association on the moderately undulating plains. It also occurs on the gently undulating plains the clustered’ lake-lunette systems and the lower outwash slopes. The main soils of this association are the Self-mulching, Brown (& Red) Vertosols and the Red Sodosols (hard alkaline red duplex soils). The sub-dominant soils include Self-mulching, Grey Vertosols.

Site LP90 is an example of a Red Sodosol from the Gooroc area.

Sites WP2 and WP3 are examples of a Brown and a Red Sodosol just south of Birchip (in the Mallee Catchment Management region).
