Location:Somers – 389382. 1 km south-west of McHaffie Lagoon.Sites 184 - 185
Sites 184 & 185, McHaffie Lagoon and Flynn Lagoon
Access:No public road access is possible. The area may be reached by a coastal walk from the car park at Green Lake.
Ownership:Part Crown land and part private land.
Geomorphology:This lagoon is similar to but smaller than McHaffie Lagoon (Site 184). It is severely disturbed by grazing although stock are now excluded from the enclose dune areas. The lagoon does not have an outlet to the sea and must be spring-fed as there is no stream inflow at all.
Significance:Local. The site is an example of coastal lagoon formation on the western shoreline of Phillip Island.
Management:Class 2. It would be desirable to completely exclude stock from the lagoon.
