Locality:

7122-389091. Ten kilometres south-west of Digby.

Access:

Dartmoor-Hamilton Road.

Geology/Geomorphology:

A combination of rotational slide and extensive earthflows occurs at this site. A spring at the base of the slide may lubricate the earthflows. The headwall of the slide exposes a fine ochre sand containing quartz pebbles and ferric concretions and fine ferruginous sands (Dorodong Sands) overlain by siliceous sand (Malanganee Sand). The slumped material and earthflows are partly vegetated. Minor tunnelling and gully have occurred at the base of the earthflow, close to the Dartmoor-Hamilton Road.

This is one of the largest slides in the Digby area and illustrates a complex of mass movement processes as well as providing a clear exposure of the Tertiary materials.
