Imminent Cut-off (arrowed)

Access:

From Maroondah Highway.

Geomorphology:

The meander neck at this site is approximately 20 metres wide. Bank slumping is occurring at both sides so a neck cut-off is imminent.

Significance:

Local. This site provides the opportunity to monitor the rate and processes of meander isolation.

Management:

Class 1. The meander neck should not be artificially cut through or stabilized.
