Jeetho - 812451. Valley of Telfer Creek three to five kilometres east of Kernot.

Access:

Kernot Road.

Ownership:

Private land.

Geology/Geomorphology:

The valley slopes of the tributaries of Telfar Creek are affected by several large rotational slips and earthflows in deeply weathered Mesozoic sediments. As a result the slope profiles here are irregular by comparison with other steep valley sectors in Mesozoic rocks.

Significance:

Regional. The extent of large scale mass movement on these slopes is greater than that occurring on similar lithologies in the Westernport catchment. No obvious reason for this contrast is apparent.

Management:

Class 3. Road and construction works on these slopes should be preceded by detailed site investigations to determine the risk posed by slope instability.
