Mt Stavely Lithic Sandstone-Siltstone Land Unit

This land unit occurs around Stavely trending WNW/ESE. The landform is mainly dissected undulating plains, although there are some undulating rises to the south which form part of the Stavely Block. The main soil type on the slopes of the plains is a Brown Ferric Chromosol. This soil type has been used to represent this unit, as it is perceived that these slopes are the common land element. The steeper slopes and the crests tend to have shallower gradational soils (Rudosols, Dermosols). Some reddish gradational soils can also be found on the better drained slopes.
