Wal Wal Association

Generally, the Wal Wal soil association corresponds to the plains with prior streams landform unit and some locations on the gently undulating plains. This association unit is mainly located in the southern section of the surveyed area and its main soils include the Epipedal, Red Vertosols with bleached subsurface horizons and hardsetting Calcic, Red and Brown Sodosols. The sub-dominant soils include Self-mulching, Grey, Black and Brown Vertosols and Hardsetting Calcic Brown Sodosols. Profiles underlain by buried soil material (ie. prior stream soils) are not uncommon.
