Wooundellah, gravely (Wo,gv)

The Wooundellah gravely mapping unit is a variation of the Wooundellah mapping unit and delineates an area of gravely soils. It lies adjacent to and some 3 m above, the southern flood plain of the Thomson River and is upstream from the Macalister River. The surface soils of this unit are typically brownish grey loams with moderate amounts of large waterworn gravel. At about 30 cm depth heavy clays occur, mottled brownish yellow with red. Heavy amounts of waterworn gravel are also found. Mottled clays with heavy gravel continue to at least 1 m.
